Bresly Gomez Fernandez, a barber was severely injured in a home explosion incident in Southampton last Wednesday

Over $60,000 has been raised to support the medical expenses of the 31-year-old man injured in a home explosion in Southampton.
A close friend and colleague, Andrew DeCosta launched a Go-Fund-Me page seeking to raise a target of $60k to support barber Bresly Gomez Fernandez’s medical treatment for severe burns at the John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, US.
The target was met and has now been raised to $70,000.
The Costa Rican national was ‘critically’ injured an explosion at his residence on Westdale Lane in Southampton last Wednesday.
Mr DeCosta wrotre on the online fundraising platform page, “Bresly was so close to his dream coming true – he was less than two weeks away, from flying out and returning with his family to Bermuda.”
And that he sacrifices being away from them, his two children Samantha and Felipe and girlfriend Susan – to provide the best life possible for them, and others in his family.
His employer, Luxury Cuts said they would cover Bresly’s current health insurance.
However, additional funding is needed for Bresly’s recovery.
So far, the effort has attracted 290 individuals donations raising $60,808.
