“We need real representation. We need real action.”
Former One Bermuda Alliance Chairman, Justin Mathias, speaking out following his public rift with the party. In a public statement issued a week ago—Mr. Mathias was highly critical of the OBA, saying it was in disarray and unprepared to govern.
The party’s deputy leader Ben Smith hit back, claiming Mr. Mathias was driven by a personal agenda, and that his run as an independent candidate was “a clear example why the electorate should be extremely wary about voting for independent candidates”.
We asked Mr. Mathias today about the timing of his decision to run as an independent, and he told us people are tired of politics as usual.
