Traffic congestion worsens, but adjustments are planned to improve flow

Motorists traveling to and from the west should “expect delays,” according to the Ministry of Public Works.
Paving work is progressing from Scaur Hill in Sandys Parish towards Somerset Bridge, with significant traffic congestion being reported. The lack of alternative routes has exacerbated the issue.
To help alleviate the situation, the Ministry said adjustments will be made to improve the flow of traffic as paving work continues over the next two weeks.
A government spokesperson stated: “Frustration is understood, and patience is appreciated as efforts continue to improve road infrastructure. Paving crews are working daily, with operations often extending into the evening to ensure timely completion.”
Meantime, motorists are advised to allow extra travel time and exercise caution when navigating through the work zone.
