Trott’s Copenhagen Champions, Smith Honoured Stateside, Frazzoni Wins Player Award

Bermuda’s footballers shine overseas

It’s been a week of celebrations and accolades for Bermudian footballing figures across Europe and North America. Goalkeeper Nathan Trott has lifted silverware in Denmark, while coach Khano Smith has been recognised for his leadership in the United States, and Eva Frazzoni has earned a prestigious award from her club in England.

Nathan Trott and his F.C. Copenhagen teammates have been crowned champions of the 2025 Danish Superliga in emphatic fashion. A resounding 3-0 victory over FC Nordsjælland on the final day of the season, played in front of a jubilant home crowd at Parken Stadium, secured the title. This triumph marks Copenhagen’s 16th league championship in 33 seasons, setting a new record for a Danish club. Trott, a valuable member of the squad throughout the campaign, will now celebrate this significant achievement.

Across the Atlantic, Rhode Island FC Head Coach and General Manager Khano Smith has been named to the USL Championship Week 11 Team of the Week. This prestigious recognition comes after Smith guided his team to two impressive shutout victories within a remarkable four-day span. This is the fourth time Smith has been honoured by the league in the last two seasons, highlighting his consistent tactical acumen and leadership qualities at the helm of the Ocean State club.

Meanwhile, in England, Bermuda international Eva Frazzoni has been honoured by her club, AFC Sudbury Women, at their End Of Season Awards. Frazzoni was voted as the Players’ Player of the Season by her teammates, a significant accolade that underscores her positive impact and valuable contribution to the squad throughout the recently concluded campaign.
