Cricket: Bermuda secures 2nd victory ICC World Cup Qualifiers

Bermuda have continued their strong showing in the tournament, securing a second consecutive victory. Today, they defeated the Cayman Islands by a convincing seven wickets in what was their third match of the qualifier.

Winning the toss, Bermuda’s captain elected to bowl first – a decision that proved astute. They successfully restricted the Cayman Islands to just 121 for 9 from their 20 overs. Despite a valiant half-century from Jermaine Baker, who made 51, the Bermudian bowlers maintained excellent control. The pick of the attack was Jonte Smith, with impressive figures of three wickets for just 19 runs.

In reply, Bermuda showcased a composed and effective batting performance, comfortably reaching their target of 122. They finished on 126 for 3, with Delray Rawlins anchoring the chase superbly, remaining unbeaten on 42 not out. While Alessandro Morris claimed two wickets for the Cayman Islands, it wasn’t enough to stem the flow of runs.
