Work has officially begun to restore the Mangrove Bay Clinic in Sandys, eight years after the facility closed its doors.

In 2023, the Government allocated $700,000 in capital funding to bring the clinic back to life.

Today, Government Ministers gathered to break ground on the long-awaited project – one that aims to close a gap in healthcare access for residents in the west end.

Health Minister Kim Wilson, who also represents the west end community, stressed the importance of restoring health services in the area.

She said once renovations are complete, the clinic will provide a wide range of healthcare offerings.

Minister remarks in full below.
