Electoral Reform framework due in 2026

Absentee voting to be included in planned legislation

The policy framework for electoral reform is expected to be finalised in early 2026, according to Diallo Rabain, Minister for the Cabinet Office and Digital Innovation, who updated parliamentarians yesterday.

The planned legislation will include absentee voting – a significant talking point during this year’s election cycle and an issue that prompted the Opposition One Bermuda Alliance to table its own bill.

Government, however, is continuing its work on the matter, with Minister Rabain stressing that bi-partisan collaboration remains essential.
