Apex Group is the title partner of SailGP’s 2026 return to Bermuda for the Apex Group Bermuda Sail Grand Prix, May 9-10, 2026

FEBRUARY 5, 2026 – LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM – SailGP, the most exciting racing on water, and leading global financial services provider, Apex Group, (“the Group”) have today announced a three-season extension to their global partnership, with the Group continuing to serve as the league’s Official Financial Solutions Partner through 2028.
Since 2023, Apex Group and SailGP have shared a united commitment to driving a positive impact, with a focus on advancing women’s empowerment globally – championing social inclusion in the sport of sailing, showcasing new possibilities, and creating meaningful opportunities for women on and off the water.
As part of the partnership, Apex Group supported the rollout of the first ever SailGP Women’s Accelerator Program. The program aims to address gender disparity, reflecting similar challenges across financial services and sport, by increasing female representation at senior levels and supporting more inclusive decision-making. Open to women across all SailGP departments – from on-water athletes, through to marketing, design and engineering – the program has provided industry-leading development for its participants since inception.
SailGP Managing Director, Andrew Thompson, said: “We’re incredibly proud to extend our partnership with Apex Group for a further three seasons. They were the first partner in our global championship to support our gender equity initiatives and we are excited to continue or work together to create meaningful pathways for women to thrive both on and off the water.”
Apex Group CEO, Peter Hughes, said: “Our partnership with SailGP is genuinely impactful, and looking forward to seeing what boundaries we can break together in the coming years. We have always been aligned around a shared ethos of data-driven innovation, sustainability and gender equality. As we now expand our partnership to include Official Purpose Partner, we reinvigorate our commitment to drive positive change together. I’m looking forward to the next phase in leading our respective industries to create a more sustainable future.”
As part of the expanded agreement, Apex Group and SailGP will partner on research to examine some of the challenges women face when entering traditionally male-dominated industries, and to identify pathways to overcoming these barriers.
Apex Group is the title partner of SailGP’s 2026 return to Bermuda for the Apex Group Bermuda Sail Grand Prix (May 9-10, 2026) – a category they’ve retained since 2024.
The financial services provider will also take on a new role assisting the global championship with ESG Reporting. This will include calculation and reporting of its carbon footprint (scopes 1, 2 and 3) in line with industry standards, and carbon reduction planning and delivery in line with SailGPs emission reduction target of 50% by 2030 (from a 2024 baseline), via their ESG services brand Holtara, part of the Apex Group.
The second event of the Rolex SailGP Championship 2026 Season takes place in the Southern Hemisphere next weekend – returning to Auckland for the ITM New Zealand Sail Grand Prix on February 14-15. Secure tickets and find out more information at SailGP.com/auckland.
