Bus users warned of ad scam

Bogus social media advertisement offers six-month deal

The Department of Public Transportation is warning the public about a fraudulent advertisement for a “6-month card for $2.55” that is circulating on social media.
This advertisement is a scam and has no affiliation with the Department of Public Transportation or the Government of Bermuda.
The DPT urges the public to avoid clicking any links associated with this ad, as doing so may expose users to personal data theft or financial fraud.
The DPT stated this afternoon, quote: “We advise all customers to only rely on official government communication channels for accurate information regarding public transportation services.”
