Thrilling action in Bermuda ball hockey double-header

Teams share 22 goals during breathless night of action

Spectators at the PCC Hockey Rink were treated to a breathless evening of attacking firepower as a 22-goal double-header delivered end-to-end drama across two pulsating Bermuda Ball Hockey encounters.

A Jake Fenske hat-trick spearheaded a clinical showing from Spine & Sport in the opening clash, before Alexandra Mosher held their nerve to edge BDA Spirits in a breathtaking 13-goal thriller.

Spine & Sport set the tone for the night with an emphatic 6-3 victory over ACT, driven by a masterclass in finishing from Fenske.

The forward dismantled the ACT defence with three clinical strikes, while Brett Shirreffs, James Amaral, and Robert Osbourne added a goal apiece to keep Spine & Sport in firm control. ACT fought back through Chris Merritt, Alex Bordage, and Townie Jackson, but could not stem the relentless pressure in their own zone.

The goals kept flowing in the nightcap as Alexandra Mosher edged BDA Spirits by the barest of margins.

Tom Duggan, Nathan Kowalski, and Richard Campbell all bagged braces for Mosher, with James VanSickle’s solitary strike proving decisive. BDA Spirits mounted a furious response through a Shane Matchett double and goals from Josh Prodger, Jeff Loper, Ben Wilshaw, and Kyle Hankins, but ultimately fell agonisingly short of forcing extra time.
