The Department of Workforce Development (DWD) invites applications for the 2026 Graduate Traineeship Programme, which provides recent Bermudian graduates with 12 months of paid, structured workplace experience.
The programme relaunches the Graduate Apprenticeship Programme under a new name for 2026–2027. The programme begins on 1 January 2027 and will place six graduates with host employers in fields aligned with their qualifications, career interests and professional development goals.
The Minister of Economy and Labour, the Hon. Jason P. Hayward, JP, MP, said: “The Graduate Traineeship Programme is an investment in Bermuda’s young professionals. By providing graduates with meaningful workplace experience and opportunities to develop practical skills, we are helping bridge the gap between academic achievement and employment while strengthening our local workforce.”
Placements will focus on six priority sectors: Allied Health, Information Technology, Business Administration, Hospitality, the Blue-Green Economy and Skilled Trades. Participants may also receive support towards relevant professional certifications or designations, where applicable.
Who Should Apply?
The programme is open to Bermudians who meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Are aged 18 to 26.
- Have completed a bachelor’s or master’s degree at a college or university.
- Graduated between 2024 and 2026.
- Seeking relevant work experience, employment in their field, or gaining experience towards a new specialisation or professional designation.
Applications close Friday, 13 November 2026. Applicants must submit their completed application and all supporting documents within this period.
