Emma Harvey lowers Bermuda 100m butterfly record at World Trials

Olympian lowers butterfly standard on day three of Illinois trials

Bermuda’s Emma Harvey continued her record-breaking spree in the pool, lowering yet another national standard on day three of the Short Course World Championship Trials in Illinois.

Following back-to-back record-setting swims across the opening two days at the FMC Natatorium in Westmont, the 25-year-old Olympian returned to the water to rewrite her own benchmark in the women’s 100m butterfly.

Harvey touched the wall in 58.62 seconds to secure 11th place overall in a fiercely contested field.

The clinical swim sliced nearly a full second off her previous Bermuda short-course record of 59.45 seconds, which had stood since the BASA Winter Meet in November 2023.

The performance marked Harvey’s fourth national record in just three days in Illinois, capping an extraordinary run of form as she continues to cement her standing on the international short-course circuit.
