Bermudian equestrian Tyler James enjoyed a milestone week in South Carolina, marking his successful transition to the elite Grand Prix stage at the Aiken Spring Classic Masters Show.
The Highfields Event Center provided the backdrop for a career-defining performance by James and his standout mount, Vino Blanco. The pair signaled their intent early with a flawless double-clear round in their debut Welcome Stakes Classic to finish fifth. They followed that up by tackling a demanding 1.35–1.40 metre Grand Prix course, navigating a seasoned professional field to claim a credible tenth place.
James’ versatility was also on full display in the Hunter and Equitation divisions. Partnering with Cruise Control, he consistently posted scores in the high 80s, securing second in the Jump Seat Medal Class and a top-ten finish in the Performance Hunters.
The future looks equally bright for the Bermudian, as his young horse, Zero to Sixty, galloped to victory in the 0.95-metre Jumper Division.
With a successful Grand Prix debut under his belt and a growing stable of high-performing mounts, James heads into the remainder of the spring season with significant momentum on the regional circuit.
