Weather forecast prompts cancellation, with plans to reschedule later this year
The King’s Birthday Reception scheduled to take place at Government House on Thursday, June 4, has been cancelled due to an unfavourable weather forecast.
In a statement, Government House said the decision was made because forecast conditions would prevent the safe erection of tents required for the event.
Governor Andrew Murdoch is hoping to reschedule the reception later this year and will provide further details to invited guests in due course.
Government House thanked invitees for their understanding and apologised for any inconvenience caused by the cancellation.
