Applications open for Southampton Parish Council scholarship

Eligible Southampton residents pursuing post-secondary education have until July 22 to apply for assistance

The Southampton Parish Council is pleased to announce that applications for its ‘Further Education Scholarship’ for Academic Year 2026/2027 are now available. Applicants must be Bermudian and have resided in Southampton Parish for at least 5 years.

Scholarships will be awarded to qualified Applicants in post-secondary education who are pursuing either Undergraduate or Graduate Degrees. Students attending the Bermuda College are invited to apply as Applicants do not have to be enrolled in overseas institutions.

Completed Forms must be received by Monday, 22nd July 2026; incomplete applications will not be considered. Applicant interviews will be held during the week of the 27th July.

Committee Chair Corey Butterfield stated: “Committee Members are very aware of the increasing financial pressures on Parents and Guardians who are educating their children and preparing them for the future. These worrying pressures can severely disrupt students’
studies, so we try to support families as best we can. Accordingly, as a Community Stakeholder, although academic performance is important criteria, Applicants’ financial circumstance will be equally influential on the Committee’s decision”.

Application Forms are available at the Southampton Post Office and can also be requested from the Southampton Parish Council’s email address: spc244@gmail.com, or its Facebook page. Forms and queries should be emailed to the address to the attention of ‘The
Scholarship Committee’
