Bermudian swimming siblings Elijah and Elan Daley took the pool by storm at the 2026 June Performance Meet in Canada, rewriting the record books and logging an official Commonwealth Games standard.
Elijah produced the standout swim of the meet in the Boys 17 & Over 200m Individual Medley. Touching the wall in a spectacular 2:06.68 to take second place, he comfortably cleared the entry standard for the Commonwealth Games and smashed the long-standing 1999 national record of 2:07.25.
He was also agonizingly close to lowering his own butterfly benchmarks, finishing third in the 100m final (55.48) and second in the 200m final (2:03.70)—both just fractions off his personal bests.
Not to be outdone, Elan Daley asserted total dominance over the women’s sprint program, winning all but one of her finals.
She opened her account with commanding victories in the 100m Butterfly (1:01.66) and the 50m Butterfly (27.85). Shifting to the freestyle sprints, Elan stormed to victory in the 50m showpiece in 26.05 seconds, before missing out on a clean sweep by finishing a superb second in the 100m final in 56.89 seconds.
