Michael Weeks on PLP deputy leadership bid: ‘I bring a listening ear’

The former National Security Minister said he only lost by 4 votes in the last Progressive Labour Party delegates leadership challenge in 2025

Michael Weeks has tossed his hat into the ring as a contender for deputy leadership of the PLP.


Mr. Weeks was Minister of National Security until he was let go in Premier David Burt’s recent Cabinet re-shuffle.


He told Bermuda Broadcasting that he informed the central committee of his intentions around two months ago and said the feedback so far has been positive.

Mr. Weeks shared with Bermuda Broadcasting the qualities he would bring to the deputy leadership posittion, if successful.
