Power edges up standings despite tough day at ILCA Championships

Miguel Power battled through another challenging day at the ILCA UK Open & National Championships, gaining one place overall as the regatta continued at the Weymouth & Portland National Sailing Academy.

The Bermudian started the day 16th overall and climbed to 15th despite a demanding three-race schedule.

Power opened with a 19th-place finish before improving slightly to cross the line 17th in the second race. His toughest test came in the final race of the day, where he finished 27th after battling through difficult conditions.

The results left Power on 140 net points heading into the closing stages of the championship.

While the day did not deliver the breakthrough he had been seeking, the rise in the overall standings keeps the Bermudian in the hunt for a stronger finish. With more racing still to come, Power will be aiming to build momentum and continue his climb up the leaderboard as the championship reaches its conclusion.
