Body found in water near Caroline Bay Marina

Police launch investigation after 59-year-old Bermudian man found dead

A 59-year-old Bermudian man was found dead in the water near Caroline Bay Marina at Morgan’s Point this morning.

Police and the Royal Bermuda Regiment Coast Guard responded to the scene in Sandys Parish shortly after receiving a report at around 10:20 am.

A police spokesperson stated: “Upon arrival, the lifeless body of a male was seen in the water at the edge of a rocky outcrop a short distance from the dock.”

An on-call doctor attended and confirmed the man’s death.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. Police are particularly interested to speak with individuals who live on boats docked at the Caroline Bay Marina or nearby residents who may have information.

Anyone with relevant details is urged to contact the police at 295-0011, the non-emergency number at 211, or via the community reporting portal.

Police also addressed an image of the scene circulating on social media, asking the public to respect the family of the deceased by refraining from sharing the image further.

The investigation is ongoing.
