Bermuda sprint sensation ranked eighth fastest US high school sprinter after CARIFTA Games gold triumph

Bermuda sprint sensation Miles Outerbridge has cemented his place among North America’s elite track talents after being ranked as the eighth fastest US high school sprinter of 2026 while attending Florida powerhouse Montverde Academy.
The recognition crowns a stellar campaign on the track, highlighted by his gold-medal triumph in the Boys Under-20 100-metre final at the CARIFTA Games in Grenada.
Outerbridge stormed across the line at the Kirani James National Stadium in a blistering 10.21 seconds, taking regional gold and rewriting the Bermudian record books.
The time decisively shattered the island’s long-standing national standard of 10.27 seconds, set three decades ago by Olympian DeVon Bean ahead of the 1996 Atlanta Games. Bean, now serving as director of athletics for the Bermuda National Athletics Association, was in attendance to watch his 30-year record fall to the rising star.
Outerbridge’s national ranking affirms his status as one of the Caribbean and North American circuit’s most formidable emerging sprint prospects.
