Morgan’s Point is buzzing with activity as teams make their final preparations ahead of this weekend’s Apex Group Bermuda Sail Grand Prix on the Great Sound — marking SailGP’s return to the island for the first time since 2024.

Tom Slingsby, skipper and CEO of Team Australia, says despite the tricky conditions, there’s no place quite like Bermuda for this type of high-speed competition.

Among those also returning to the island is Anna Weis of the United States SailGP Team — widely recognized as SailGP’s first and only full-time female grinder, helping break barriers in one of the sport’s most physically demanding roles.
Weis says being the only woman in that position is both an honour and a privilege, and she’s excited to be back competing in Bermuda once again.
