Bermuda’s Shequita Parsons has taken center stage in Providenciales, leading a high-profile Concacaf Venue and Match Coordinators workshop aimed at raising operational standards across regional football.
The intensive two-day course, hosted by the Turks and Caicos Islands Football Association (TCIFA) at their National Academy, brought together local officials determined to strengthen compliance, security, and match-day administration.
Parsons, who serves as the Bermuda Football Association’s Women’s and Legends Scholarship Committee Chair, co-led the program alongside Jamaica’s Patrick Beckford. As a certified instructor and regular Match Commissioner for Concacaf and the Caribbean Football Union (CFU), Parsons’ appointment underscores her growing influence as a leading educator in regional administration.
The curriculum focused intensely on the critical roles of Match Commissioners and Venue Coordinators—the custodians of the game’s integrity behind the scenes. Instructors laid down strict guidelines for fair play, spectator safety, and minimizing tournament disruptions.
Moving beyond theoretical classroom lectures, Parsons and Beckford placed their students directly into a live, high-pressure environment. Participants took full administrative control of pre-match preparations for a Provo Premier League fixture.
The practical field assessment forced officials to execute meticulous stadium walkthroughs, manage locker room inspections, conduct equipment checks, and handle official match sheet reporting under strict competitive deadlines.
