The Southampton Parish Council recently awarded ‘Higher Education Scholarships’ to nine students of Southampton Parish to assist with their studies. Council received the most applications it ever has, and the Scholarship Committee had to become creative to support as many Applicants as possible with its limited funds.
This year’s Recipients are enrolled in institutions in the US, The Netherlands, England, and Canada and are graduates of public and private schools. Again in 2026, we are proud to continue our tradition of supporting Bermudian student-athletes who maintain top grades and represent both their schools and our Country with excellence in their sport.
Our brilliant Recipients are:
Ms. Sian Francis studying Business to earn a Bachelor’s Degree;
Ms. Sa’Yuri Dowling studying to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration;
Mr. Norre Robinson studying Political Science to earn a Bachelor’s Degree;
Mr. Josiah Tannock earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science;
Ms. Ketura Bulford-Trott studying to earn a Master’s Degree in Pharmacy;
Ms. Alaya Ford studying to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology;
Mr. Noah Hayward earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Forensic Science with Physics;
Ms. Maya Peart earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications; and
Mr. Enrique Mendes earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration & International Business.
Scholarship Committee Chair Mr. Corey Butterfield stated: “Although we have a very modest budget, being able to financially support Students and their Families in our small way is both humbling and rewarding. I’d like to thank the Members of the Committee for their open dialogue, diligence, and empathy during our deliberations.”
Southampton Parish Council wishes all of Bermuda’s students-from every parish-the VERY BEST for the upcoming Academic Year whether in their first or final year, and whether studying in Bermuda or Overseas.
