Bermudian rugby international Sarah Cross has been crowned High Performance Athlete of the Year at the University of Buckingham Students’ Union’s 2026 Sports and Societies Awards.
Cross saw off competition from two other shortlisted finalists to claim the prestigious individual honour at an end-of-season ceremony hosted at the Leonardo Hotel in Milton Keynes.
The award caps a standout campaign in the UK for the versatile Bermudian, who has successfully balanced her academic commitments with top-level rugby on both sides of the Atlantic.
Alongside her contributions in university competition, Cross has been an integral presence for local club side Buckingham Swans and continues to feature on the international stage for Bermuda.
Organizers gathered to celebrate Buckingham’s leading student-athletes, with Cross’s dual success at club and international level earning the headline recognition of the evening.
