Series of events will celebrate milestone
The Salvation Army in Bermuda has a weekend of 130th Anniversary celebrations for the entire community to enjoy. Commencing September 25 – 27th, all events are free as a thank you to our local community for all the support provided over these 130 years.

Friday, September 25, 2026
Proclamation on the Steps of City Hall, Hamilton
- Time: 12:30 p.m.
- Admission: All are welcome
Local Bermuda Leadership will be involved including Town Crier Ed Christopher, Mayor Michael Branco, His Excellency the Governor of Bermuda, Andrew Murdoch, MP Tinee Furbert, former Mayor Charles Gosling, The Salvation Army Bermuda Area Commander Captain Alfred Esdaille, the Territorial Leaders for The Salvation Army Canada and Bermuda, Commissioners Lee and Debbie Graves, and music from The Salvation Army 130th Anniversary Band, among other special participants.

Pre-Concert Meet & Greet
- Location: Ruth Seaton James Foyer
- Time: 5:00 – 6:00 p.m.
- Admission: Free
So many people are connected to the Salvation Army either through attending Sunday School, Brownies, Girl Guides, Cup Scouts, Boy Scouts, Youth Group, Singing Company, Church or have been a recipient, donor or volunteer of community services offered. This is a time to reunite with friends and neighbours. There will be a photo booth where you can capture these reunions. Lots of old photos will be on display to reminisce over. Make a voluntary love offering or register on the night to help with Christmas Kettles. Light refreshments will be served.
130th Anniversary Concert
- Location: Ruth Seaton James Auditorium
- Time: 6:00 p.m.
- Admission: Free
Enjoy music from the Anniversary Band consisting of Salvation Army and Bermuda Regiment bands, an anniversary Songsters and Singing Company, anniversary Songsters and an anniversary timbrel brigade. Flying in from Canada just for this occasion is guest brass trombone soloist and Bermudian Salvationist Kevin Hayward.

March of Witness
- Location: Starting on the corner of Front and Court Streets (Old Fire Station)
- Time: 9:00 a.m.
- Admission: All are welcome
We’ll journey from the site of Hamilton Citadel’s first meeting venue, along Court Street, past the location where the Salvation Army’s Hamilton Citadel’s Booth Memorial Hall once stood on to Angle Street with a special “mark time” at the home of our oldest living Salvationist, before finishing at North Street Citadel for the 10:00 a.m. Anniversary Service.
