Bermuda Bowlers Aim for CAC Games Qualification

Bowling

Bermuda’s National Men’s Bowling Team are embarking on a crucial mission this week, as they travel to the Dominican Republic for the Central American and Caribbean Bowling Confederation Championships. This prestigious tournament, running from June 1st to June 8th, holds the key to qualification for the next CAC Games.

The experienced six-man squad features a blend of seasoned campaigners and emerging talent, including David Maycock, Damien Matthews, Dayvon Tucker, Michael Honore, Jamel Bean, and Blake Raynor. They will be competing across the singles, doubles, trios, and team events, with each discipline featuring six qualifying games to determine the medallists.

The stakes are high, with the combined scores of the top five bowlers from each nation deciding which nine countries will join the automatically qualified host nation at the next CAC Games.

Bermuda’s team brings a wealth of international experience to the lanes. Maycock and Tucker were part of the national team that reached the last 16 at the Bowling World Cup earlier this year. Matthews and Maycock also have a proven track record at the CAC Games, having secured a silver medal in the men’s trios back in 2018.

With their blend of youth and seasoned expertise, the Bermuda National Men’s Bowling Team will be aiming to draw upon their past successes and deliver strong performances in the Dominican Republic, hoping to secure a coveted spot for the island at the next CAC Games.
