Bermuda will host the ICC Under-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup Americas Division 1 Qualifier in late August 2027, with former national player Ryan Steede appointed head coach.
The 50-over tournament features the region’s emerging talent competing for a solitary place at the 2028 ICC Under-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup.
It marks the fourth major International Cricket Council event staged on the island since 2023, underlining Bermuda’s status as a trusted host in associate cricket.
“This tournament not only puts our world-class facilities and passionate cricket community on the international stage, but it also provides our youth players with an unprecedented opportunity to compete on home soil,” said Bermuda Cricket Board president Lloyd Smith.
Steede, who represented Bermuda during their landmark qualification run to the 2007 World Cup, takes over preparation and squad selection ahead of the home campaign.
“My primary focus is to instil discipline, strong work ethic, and tactical sharpness into this squad,” Steede said. “We want to capitalise on hosting in 2027 and secure our spot at the 2028 World Cup.”
