Bermuda international midfielder Kane Crichlow is on the move, Chelmsford City have confirmed that Crichlow has turned down the offer of a new contract with the club.
The talented midfielder, who joined the Clarets in July last year after a successful trial, quickly established himself as a key player at Melbourne Community Stadium. Crichlow made a significant impact, featuring in 44 appearances across all competitions and netting a valuable 14 goals throughout the 2024-25 season.
His consistent performances earned him widespread recognition at the club’s end-of-season awards. In a clean sweep, Crichlow was voted the Players’ Player of the Season by his teammates, named the Manager’s Player of the Season by Robbie Simpson, and also claimed the coveted Fans’ Player of the Season award, highlighting the strong connection he forged with the Chelmsford City supporters.
Despite Chelmsford City’s clear desire to retain his services, Crichlow has opted to take a step up the footballing ladder. He has signed for National League side Sutton United, offering him an opportunity to compete at a higher level of the English game.
Chelmsford City will undoubtedly be disappointed to lose a player of Crichlow’s quality after his impressive season. However, the club has wished him well as he embarks on this new chapter in his career with Sutton United in the National League.
