Bermuda’s junior squash stars enjoyed an exceptional opening weekend at the 2026 Junior Caribbean Squash Championships, capturing four individual medals in Tortola.
The team delivered a series of clinical performances at the Tortola Sports Club to secure a gold, two silvers, and a bronze ahead of the team tournament.
The headline act came in an all-Bermuda Boys Under-13 final. Mason Smith deservingly claimed the Caribbean crown, overcoming a tight opening-game deficit against compatriot Benjamin Sherratt to triumph 9-11, 11-4, 11-5, 11-7 in a grueling 29-minute battle.
Bermuda’s medal tally was bolstered across the divisions:
- Boys Under-19 Silver: Eli Carpol fought his way to the showpiece final but fell 11-2, 11-5, 11-4 to home favorite Danny Henderson.
- Boys Under-11 Bronze: Remy Horsefall locked up a superb third-place finish after bowing out in the semi-finals to Trinidad’s Evan Ghuran.
The four-medal haul lays a formidable foundation for Bermuda ahead of the highly anticipated team draws later this week.
