Evidence of firearm discharge discovered; investigation underway.
Around 10:40pm on 4 March 2026, police received several reports of what were believed to be gunshots in the Mary Victoria Road / Alexandra Road area of Devonshire.
Armed officers were quickly dispatched to the location to conduct inquiries, and evidence suggesting that a firearm had been discharged was discovered.
A short time later, police also received reports that a male had attended King Edward Memorial Hospital with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound. The seriousness of the male’s injuries is not known at this time.
Police have since cordoned off the area, and an investigation is now underway.
