Police said a female passenger from the car was taken to hospital for treatment

Shortly before 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2025, police and other first responders were dispatched to a two-vehicle collision involving a car and a minibus on South Road near the entrance to Southampton Princess in Southampton.
Details remain limited at this time. However, it is believed that a female passenger traveling in the car was transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries that are considered potentially serious.
Preliminary information suggests that both vehicles were traveling in a westerly direction when the car slowed to navigate road construction.
The minibus reportedly struck the rear of the car. The minibus driver has been arrested on suspicion of impaired driving.
Motorists are advised to expect delays on South Road. Traffic diversions have been put in place at Horseshoe Road and Harbour View Drive.
Anyone who may have witnessed the collision is urged to contact police on 211 at the earliest opportunity.
