Police, Parks staff, and a generous trucker join forces to spruce up Devonshire spot after resident complaints
Some positive news about the power of community partnership making a difference.
After concerns were raised by area residents about activity taking place at Sandy’s Dock on North Shore Road in Devonshire, members of the Bermuda Police Service’s Community Policing Division joined forces with the Parks Department to clean up the spot.
In a post to social media, police said they removed items “which had become something of an eyesore in the area”.
Mr Ashley Smith of A to Z Trucking also stepped in to offer his services free of charge.
The BPS said it’s a clear example of what can be achieved when the community and police work hand in hand.
The post added: “We’d like to say a huge thank you to Mr. Smith as well as Park department staff Sonia Thomas Carlton Butler, Jalun Hassell and Sonia Thomas. Not to mention our own community officers, Sergeant Jackson along with Constables Eli and Douglas.”
