The refined special development order approved by the Department of Planning includes 250 new proposed residential and tourism units

Don’t keep neighbours in the dark.
That’s the plea from an area MP who is seeking more detail about the final special development order granted to developers of the Fairmont Southampton.
Linda Smith, OBA MP for Southampton West Central, says residents have many outstanding questions on how the proposed 250 residential units will impact the area.
About 5.9 acres of recreational land will be lost to the construction, most of it from the Turtle Hill golf course and realignment of South Road.
Representatives of Gencom and the Department of Planning have been contacted for comment
Jasmine Patterson has the story.
