New five-year road safety plan targets dangerous driving

Officials say Operation Action will focus on education, enforcement and behaviour change as the island continues to see frequent road deaths and serious crashes

As Road Safety Week wraps up, officials are warning that dangerous driving continues to put lives at risk.

Data shows Bermuda averages a road fatality every 31 days, while emergency doctors say serious crashes can overwhelm the island’s limited hospital resources.

The Bermuda Road Safety Council used the week to promote safer driving habits and launch a new five-year road safety plan.
