Rain fails to stop North, Burgess, and Correia karting clean sweeps

Wet weather and slick track conditions could not slow the high-octane action as the Bermuda Karting Association delivered a thrilling round of the Rubis Energy Karting Championship at Southside Motor Sports Raceway.

The day was defined by dominant performances and several clean sweeps across the competitive classes. In the L206 class, Jason North was in unstoppable form, storming to victory in all three heats, ahead of John Carreiro Jr. and Owen DeCosta.

The winning trend continued in the premier Tag categories. Ryan Burgess was the man to beat in Tag Senior, securing a clean sweep across all heats despite tight racing from Nathan DeCosta and Jorja Thomas. Burgess also powered to victory in the KZ Shifter division, followed by Ryan Rebello.

Rising star Tanner Correia proved his class by securing a double clean sweep. He first took top honours in Tag Junior, winning every heat ahead of Alondro Albouy, before repeating the feat in the Cadet class, holding off Jacob Garrett.

In the Shifter Masters ranks, Jason DeCouto swept all three heats, with Philip Correia rounding out the podium spots. Despite the reduced visibility, the drivers put on an electrifying show, confirming the excitement of Bermuda karting in any conditions.
