Speeding and impaired driving fuel rise in collisions

Roads Policing chief warns serious crashes are happening every three days on average

Viewers will have noticed in recent weeks a spate of separate incidents in which cars have flipped over.

When we spoke to police about it, they cited speed and impaired driving as key contributors to most of the serious collisions involving cars.

Chief Inspector Robert Cardwell of the Roads Policing Unit says high speeds can maim and kill.
