Bermuda’s next generation will have an opportunity to explore careers, entrepreneurship and emerging opportunities across tourism, travel, technology and the creator economy when the inaugural Bermuda Youth Travel & Creator Summit takes place on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute (BUEI).
Designed primarily for young people ages 14 to 18, the Summit will bring together students, tourism professionals, entrepreneurs, content creators, technology leaders and other industry voices under the theme:
“The Future of Travel is Yours.”
The Summit is being developed as part of the wider Bermuda Travel Experience, an initiative designed to strengthen Bermuda’s connection to the global travel industry while creating greater opportunities for Bermudians to participate in the visitor economy.
Founder Maurice Foley said the Youth Summit is intended to encourage young Bermudians to think differently about what a career in tourism can look like.
“Tourism is much bigger than hotels, restaurants and traditional hospitality roles,” Mr. Foley said. “Today it includes aviation, technology, artificial intelligence, content creation, entrepreneurship, destination marketing, event production, accessibility, digital media and countless other areas.
“We want our young people to understand that they do not simply have to watch the future of tourism happen around them. They can help build it.”
The October 24 programme is expected to include panel discussions, keynote conversations, interactive sessions, career exposure, creator and technology-focused programming, and opportunities for young Bermudians already building businesses or creative ventures to showcase what they are doing.
Discussions are also underway with local and international organisations regarding participation, programming and partnership opportunities.
A central focus of the Summit will be connecting Bermuda’s tourism industry with the interests and skills of a new generation.
Mr. Foley added:
“If Bermuda is serious about the future of tourism, then young Bermudians have to be part of that conversation now — not five or ten years from now when they enter the workforce.
“We should be exposing them to the possibilities, giving them access to people already working in these industries and, most importantly, asking them what they believe the future of Bermuda tourism should look like.”
The Summit will also explore the growing relationship between tourism and the creator economy, including how social media, storytelling, artificial intelligence and emerging technologies are changing the way destinations are discovered, marketed and experienced.
The event forms part of a broader week of activity culminating with the Bermuda Travel Experience on Saturday, October 31, 2026, at Grotto Bay Beach Resort & Spa.
