Warwick Academy swimmers to make a splash in Pennsylvania

The Warwick Academy High Performance Swim Team has arrived in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, this week to face its toughest test of the season at the Easterns Interscholastic Swimming & Diving Championships.

Held at the Kunkel Aquatic Center at Franklin Marshall University on February 13th and 14th, the meet is regarded as one of the premier high-school level competitions in the United States, drawing the finest scholastic talent from across the East Coast.

Representing Bermuda, Warwick Academy has fielded a strong 13-swimmer roster, set to compete in 25 individual events and six relays. The squad is led by captains Jorgia White and Logan Jones, with the team looking to build on a consistent record of international success.

  • Squad: Elanna Fulton, Elena Bortoli, Sofia Leclerc, Allison Steynor, Axel Wernbo, Jamie MacFarlane, Zachary Johnson, Noah Fulton, Cameron Duda, Jacob Leclerc, and Ethan Smith

For Head Coach Ben Smith, the trip is about more than just fast times; it is a platform for Bermudian athletes to showcase their development to university scouts.

“Easterns is a meet that demands resilience, focus, and belief,” said Smith. “Our swimmers have been working intensely throughout this season, and this is an opportunity for them to challenge some of the best scholastic swimmers in the United States. Warwick Academy is proud to represent Bermuda on this stage and our athletes are ready.”

The programme, managed by Shirene Fulton and Sommer Smith, continues to be a cornerstone of elite athletic development on the island, blending academic rigour with high-performance coaching. Following a top-30 finish at last year’s event, the 2026 contingent will be eager to prove that Bermuda remains a formidable force in the water.
