Desptie not playing their best, a brace by Daley Outerbridge propels the Under 17 Lady Warriors to a 2 nil victory over Cayman on Monday in the World Cup qualifiers in Puerto Rico.
She may be several years younger than her teammates but yesterday 14 year old Daley Outerbridge demonstrated why she is right at home with the top Under 17s of the region. Deadlocked with Cayman at nil nil for most of the first half, Outerbridge opened the score for Team Bermuda in the 44th minute on an assist by Milan Gibbons-Thomas. And pouncing on a loose ball in the area in the 53rd minute of the match, Outerbridge fired her second goal of the encounter into the empty net to seal the 2-nil win for the Lady Warriors. With 3 points to the good Bermuda now stands in 2nd place in Group A behind hosts, Puerto Rico, who outclassed Bermuda’s next opponent, St Vincent and the Grenadines, beating them by a score of 3 goals to nil.
Bermuda will take on the Vincentians today at 5pm.
