Canada’s Prime Minister makes brief trip to Bermuda

Justin Trudeau delivers personal eulogy at the funeral of close family friend

Justin Trudeau, The Prime Minister of Canada, made a brief private visit to Bermuda today.
A statement from the Office of The Prime Minister declared that Mr Trudeau would deliver a personal eulogy at the funeral of close family friend Peter Green: “The Prime Minister will travel from and return to Ottawa the same day.”
Mr Trudeau touched down this morning aboard a Canadian government Challenger jet.
There was a police escort for the Prime Minister as cars drove him and his team from the private jet facility at Southside.
The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation reporting that the Trudeaus have been friends with the Green family since the 1970s. An obituary in The Royal Gazette stated that businessman and philanthropist Peter Green, of Marshall’s Island, Warwick, died at the age of 88.
The CBC reported: “Pierre Trudeau was godfather to Peter Green’s son Alexander, who delivered a reading at Trudeau’s funeral in Montréal. Pierre Trudeau also spoke at the funeral of Peter Green’s wife in Edmonton in 1990, following her death from cancer at the age of 38.”
Today’s visit to Bermuda drew extensive coverage in the Canadian press.
