A 25-year old pump-station is getting an overhaul. The Corporation of Hamilton project, more than 2 years in the making, sees critical pipework replaced. Corrosion and degradation of key components could negatively impact the integrity of the sewage system, meaning all pipes downstream of the pumps will be taken out of service.
In the interim, a bypass system will be created around the plant. A section of the Number 8 carpark will be inaccessible to the general public during this time, including nearby cycle parking. The full interview, including upcoming City infrastructure projects, in the video interview (above).
