Motorcyclist hospitalised after ‘serious’ crash in Southampton

Police investigate two-vehicle collision involving car and motorbike

A motorcyclist has been hospitalised following a ‘serious’ two-vehicle collision in Southampton, according to police.

The incident occurred just before 2:30 pm, east of Seymour Farm Road.

A police spokesperson stated: “Reports indicate that a man driving a car exited a private driveway and collided with a motorcyclist travelling in the westbound lane.”

The motorcyclist is believed to have sustained potentially serious injuries and has been taken to hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, the car driver reportedly did not suffer any injuries.

Police have advised motorists of traffic delays as the investigation at the scene continues.

As of 3:30 pm, traffic diversions were in place at the junction of South Road and Middle Road (also known as Barnes Corner) and at the Middle Road/St. Anne’s Road junction.
