Cardiff City manager Brian Barry-Murphy has downplayed concerns over goalkeeper Nathan Trott after the Bermudian sat out the club’s opening pre-season fixtures.
The 27-year-old, who joined the Bluebirds on a permanent deal this summer, is currently sidelined with a minor groin issue and missed Cardiff’s dominant 6-1 friendly victory over Cork City.
However, Barry-Murphy insists the omission of his new shot-stopper is purely precautionary as the club prepares for the upcoming Championship campaign.
“Nathan has a very minor groin irritation,” Barry-Murphy said. “It is nothing to be overly concerned about. We are just being sensible at this stage of the summer.”
Trott, who enjoyed a stellar promotion-winning campaign last term, is expected to integrate back into first-team training in the coming days as Cardiff’s pre-season preparations intensify.
