Wells & City Dream Ends – Nolan Calls Time on Career

Football

A tough night for Nahki Wells and Bristol City as their Championship play-off dreams were extinguished by a dominant Sheffield United. The Blades secured a 3-0 victory in the second leg at Bramall Lane, sealing a comprehensive six-goal aggregate win, despite Wells’ efforts throughout the season.

Meanwhile, former Bermuda international Aaliyah Nolan has announced her retirement from football as her Bradford City Women’s season concluded with a defeat. Nolan made 35 appearances and scored 23 goals for the Bantams.

In Denmark, Nathan Trott watched from the bench as his F.C. Copenhagen teammate Thomas Delaney struck a late equaliser, earning a vital 1-1 draw against FC Midtjylland in a close Superliga title race.

And in the NWSL, Leilanni Nesbeth was an unused substitute as her Chicago Stars FC suffered a narrow 3-2 defeat to the Washington Spirit, conceding a late winner. Her Chicago side now heads on the road to face the North Carolina Courage.
