All eyes on Imelda as Humberto brushes by

The latest forecast from the Bermuda Weather Service has Hurricane Humberto coming closest to Bermuda at 10am today, when it will be 234 nautical miles to our north-north-west.

Meanwhile, Hurricane Imelda – a much greater threat to Bermuda – is expected to pass within 25 nautical miles of Bermuda – or even make a direct hit – at 1am tomorrow. At that point Imelda is expected to be a Category 2 hurricane. Imelda is currently packing winds of 80 knots, with gusts up to 100 knots, and moving east-north-east at 18 knots.
