Katherine Bean-Rosario and the Leeward Islands Under 19 Women’s team delivered a commanding seven-wicket victory over Guyana’s Under 19 Women today at the Diego Martin Sporting Complex, part of the West Indies Rising Stars Women’s Under-19 Championships.
Guyana, batting first, were bowled out for just 74 runs. Sainavi Kambalapalli was the standout bowler for the Leeward Islands, taking four wickets for 22 runs, while Bermudian Katherine Bean-Rosario was sharp behind the stumps, holding two crucial catches.
In reply, the Leeward Islands comfortably chased down the target, reaching 75 for 3. Kambalapalli again shone, top-scoring with an unbeaten 37, and Bean-Rosario contributed a valuable 7 runs to seal the comprehensive win. This victory marks a significant step for the Leeward Islands in the regional competition.
