Bermuda Juniors Claim Four Medals at CASA Squash Championships

Bermuda’s promising young squash talents have concluded their impressive campaign at the 2025 Junior Caribbean Area Squash Association (CASA) Championships in the Cayman Islands. The island’s contingent delivered a strong performance in both individual and team events, securing a notable haul of four individual medals and seeing the Boys team finish a respectable fifth, while the Girls team secured sixth place in the highly anticipated team competition.

The individual championships were a particular highlight for Bermuda. Leading the charge was Mason Smith, who was crowned the Under 13 Boys Champion, securing a Gold Medal after a dominant straight-sets victory.

The medal count continued with three Bronze Medal performances:

  • Benjamin Sherratt secured a Bronze Medal in the Boys Under 13 division.
  • Owen Rosorea also claimed a Bronze Medal in the Boys Under 17 category.
  • And Gabrielle Turchiaro earned a Bronze Medal in the Under 19 Girls division.

While both the Boys and Girls teams faced tough competition in their respective team events, their collective effort and the individual successes underscore the significant progress being made in junior squash development in Bermuda. The young athletes not only competed fiercely but consistently reached the podium against strong regional competition, boding well for the future of the sport on the island.
