Bermuda’s World Cup dream ends

The Gombey Warriors officially eliminated after Jamaica dominates Bermuda 4-0 in Kingston

Bermuda’s World Cup dream is officially over.

The Gombey Warriors were knocked out of 2026 CONCACAF qualifiers after a 4–0 defeat to Jamaica in Kingston last night. The Reggae Boyz dominated from the start, with three goals in the first half — including an own goal by Bermuda captain Dante Leverock in the 24th minute. Bobby De Cordova-Reid struck again two minutes later, and Shamar Nicholson made it 3–0 in the 34th.

Dujuan Richards sealed the result in the 76th minute, capping off a dominant performance by the hosts.

Jamaica controlled 75 percent of possession and fired 28 shots — 12 on target — compared to Bermuda’s 5, with just 2 on goal. Jamaica also out-passed Bermuda with 89% accuracy, while Bermuda managed 75%.

With the win, Jamaica returns to the top of Group B. Bermuda remains on zero points from four matches and is now officially out of contention for the next round.
