The scene is set for today’s final round of the Eastern County Cup competition.
Cup holders Cleveland County face off against the challengers, St. David’s Cricket Club.
Bermuda Broadcasting will be live here online, on ZFB TV7 and Power 95 radio.
Our pre-show, hosted by Ian Rawlins, will start at 8.30am and – weather permitting – match coverage begins at 10am.
The cup holders, led by captain Mackih McGowan, have made one change to their team, with Zeri Tomlinson replacing Damali Bell.
Cleveland’s squad is bolstered by a host of players with valuable Cup Match experience, including vice-captain Steven Bremar Jr. and the versatile Dion Stovell, both from Somerset. The team also features players from St. George’s, including McGowan, Jason Anderson, Treadwell Gibbons Jr., and Allan Douglas Jr.
The challengers, St. David’s, will be led by captain OJ Pitcher. Pitcher is on the verge of a personal milestone, needing just 34 runs to reach the 1000-run mark in the competition, a feat only achieved by a select few legends of the game.
St. David’s has also recalled key players who featured in the St. George’s Cricket Club’s Cup Match team, including Jonte Smith, N’Zari Paynter, and Macai Simmons. The team will also feature George O’Brien Jr. and his nephew, Isaiah O’Brien.
With two strong squads featuring a mix of experience and rising talent, the final round of the Eastern County Cup promises to be a thrilling contest for cricket fans.
