Bermuda’s Governor Andrew Murdoch had a royal moment this week – not as the Crown’s representative, but as its recipient.

Governor Murdoch stood before King Charles at Windsor Castle on Tuesday to be invested with the insignia of Companion of the Order of St Michael and St George.

The Governor called the occasion an honour and a privilege, adding that he found the experience very humbling as he discovered why others were receiving their honours.

He said, “some were household names, such as Sir David Beckham (who was so modest at what he achieved), while many others have worked out of the spotlight serving their communities with distinction.”

“I want to acknowledge all those that have supported me on my own journey: I thank you all for your help, advice and encouragement.”
